My Life Soundtrack

What these mean to me

These songs are extremely special to me; as well as being the majority of my all-time favourites they also comprise the soundtrack to my life.

Each one of of them, in chronological order (roughly from age 11 to the present day), demarks, signifies or represents a key event or period of my life. In most cases the song also came out (or I became aware of it) during the time in my life which it represents.

For example: "Suddenly I see" by KT Tunstall describes a beautiful, captivating woman with the chorus, "Suddenly I see, this is what I wanna be". It was released in late 2005 and during that time I had my epiphany; that I was fighting a lost cause in trying to deny my femininity and that I was truly a woman - I wanted to be the girl the song spoke of. Happily, a few years ago at an Intellect UK ball (wearing a particularly stunning dress) I realised that I had indeed become that girl; beautiful and captivating with a circle of people wishing to talk to me. :)
